I think most of foreign banks would like to invest in the big 4 at the lowest risk, such as setting up fund ventures without directly involved.Amy Guhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08571779926048621052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8097090.post-1113047689541773542005-04-09T19:54:00.000+08:002005-04-09T19:54:00.000+08:00It's better to own part of a small bank that makes...It's better to own part of a small bank that makes money than a large bank that loses money!

I would be very surprised if any top-50 bank was willing to buy a stake in one of the big four banks - they're still run like government departments, with political direction and poor risk management.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8097090.post-1112621905842940202005-04-04T21:38:00.000+08:002005-04-04T21:38:00.000+08:00you are right, the name is China's Agricultural Ba...you are right, the name is China's Agricultural Bank. The Agricultural bank (I can't quite recall the name) had 80% bad loans not long ago. There have been comments here and there that HSBC was very clever to buy a stake into the Bank of Communications so it wouldn't have to buy into one of the big 4 (which by commercial bank standards are all absolutely shocking.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
